Unattended Death

The discovery of an unattended death is a difficult and emotional experience for everyone involved. Whether a loved one lived alone or simply went undiscovered for a period of time, families are often left facing unexpected challenges while trying to process their loss.

When an unattended death is not discovered immediately, natural decomposition can create conditions that require specialized cleanup. In many cases, persistent odors, contamination, and damage to affected materials make professional restoration necessary. Shore & Stream Foundation provides compassionate, professional cleanup services designed to safely restore the affected areas while treating every home with dignity and respect.

Once the scene has been released by the appropriate authorities, our team is available to respond. From your first phone call, we'll explain the cleanup process, answer your questions, and help you understand what to expect. We recognize that every situation is unique, and our goal is to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible during an already difficult time.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission is different. Shore & Stream Foundation was founded on the belief that tragedy should never become an opportunity to increase a family's financial burden. Rather than placing pressure on families during a time of crisis, we focus on honest communication, compassionate service, and working with each family to determine the best path forward based on their individual circumstances.

We also understand that some families may need additional support beyond the cleanup itself. When appropriate, we work alongside chaplains, victim advocates, mental health professionals, and other trusted community organizations to help connect families with available resources.

Our goal is simple: to restore a safe, healthy, and livable environment with professionalism, compassion, honesty, and respect, allowing families to focus on remembering their loved one rather than the challenges left behind.
