Our Mission

After more than 20 years serving families through trauma scene cleanup, medical waste management, environmental services, solid waste and recycling, and hoarder home abatement, Eric Parker founded Shore & Stream Foundation with a simple belief:

Tragedy should never become an opportunity to increase a family's financial burden.

Eric began his career in trauma scene cleanup, working directly with families following homicide, suicide, unattended death, and other traumatic events. Those early experiences provided a firsthand understanding of both the technical demands of the work and the emotional impact these events have on families.

As his career progressed, he joined one of the largest medical waste disposal companies in the United States, where he managed a medical waste treatment facility responsible for the safe handling and disposal of regulated medical waste while working alongside hospitals, emergency responders, and healthcare professionals.

He later built a career in the solid waste and recycling industry, serving in leadership roles overseeing environmental services, transportation, logistics, recycling, and large-scale operations. Throughout his career, he also specialized in hoarder home abatement, helping families restore safe and healthy living environments with compassion and respect.

Although the work changed throughout his career, one thing never did.

Eric repeatedly witnessed families experiencing the sudden loss of a loved one being asked to make significant financial decisions while overwhelmed by grief, shock, and urgency. In some cases, he observed the emotional weight of the situation being used to justify inflated costs or encourage immediate financing decisions before families had an opportunity to fully understand their options.

Those experiences convinced him that families deserved a different approach—one centered on compassion, transparency, and dignity rather than urgency and financial pressure.

That belief became Shore & Stream Foundation.

Today, that same principle continues to guide every decision we make. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we exist to provide compassionate, professional emergency trauma cleanup while placing families—not profit—at the center of everything we do.

We also recognize that every family's needs are different. While our primary mission is emergency trauma cleanup, some situations require additional support. When appropriate, we work alongside chaplains, victim advocates, mental health professionals, emergency food providers, temporary housing organizations, and other trusted community partners to help connect families with available resources.

Our mission is simple: to provide compassionate emergency trauma cleanup, reduce unnecessary burdens on families, and ensure every person we serve is treated with honesty, dignity, and respect.

Because tragedy changes lives. Compassion should help restore them.
